Re-discovering...

SKA.

I havnt listened to ska in ages & today i re-discovered it and have no idea why i forgot about it in my collection.

Check out:

The Skatalites - Guns of Navarone

[About Skatalites: Ska band from Jamaica. Played initially & recorded their best known songs 1963 - 1965. Most of the founders of the band have died in the last decade.

The Maytals - Do the Reggae

[About Toots & The Maytals: Often known as simply The Maytals. Jamaican reggae ska band, formed in the early 60s when everyone was going crazy for ska.]

The Beat - Hands Off She's Mine
Though with the Beat (also known as English Beat as when they toured the US, they had to alter it) all of the album this song is on (I just cant stop it) is brilliant.

[About The Beat: English. The first 2 tone ska revival band on this post founded in 1978. aTheir songs fuse ska, pop, soul, reggae, and punk rock, and their lyrics deal with themes of love, unity, and sociopolitical topics.]

and last but certainly not least, the godfather of ska...

Laurel Aitken - Sugar Sugar

That was hard to choose one, i chose that cause im feeling a bit loved up at the moment, but if youre not as lovey dovey as me check out... Sally Brown

[About Laurel Aitken: Jamaican & cuban descent. Originator of jamaican ska. Released singles in the 60s & 70s.]

If you dont wanna skank out to any of these, theres something wrong with your feet!
